Always make a backup of the files that are overwritten by the File Archive, as the original files are usually required to update the game to a newer version or to play Online!. Hello, 1st I had problems installing the program. It kept wanting to install to Paradox Europa Universalis: Rome, even though the Kalyso Grand Ages Rome folder and installation existed. It then came up and declared i had to have the core game. I had to uninstall the Paradox game and also delete the folders first.
I went ahead and uninstalled and then did a clean install of Grand Ages Rome. Then tried the expansion - same message - need the core game (this was right up front and would not attempt to install.) I then started Grand Ages Rome and did all the patches and then tried the expansion install. This time it past the core game message and installed to the correct folder. After it was done I let it auto start the game. The game froze.
When I Ctr+Alt+Del out to task manager I found it had an critical error stating: critical error - a base engine Lua class didn't compile.se Civitas3 Tools Build.build Data HGE autorun.lua:13: Attempt to use an unidentified global 'GetConfigKey' It does this each time it starts up almost immediately. I do not know how to edit the lua file nor do i know if it the problem is it is looking for the wrong directory (Civitas3 i understand is the Italian name of the Grand Ages Rome) or if it is some registry entry problem etc. But it will not run until that is corrected and I need help getting it installed. Thanks in advance! (, 01:11 PM)Timo Wrote: It's the same company.
When are you getting the error? During installation or while starting the game?
Did you make sure your original game was properly installed? I just installed the original game with patch 1.11 before installing this expansion.

The error was strange, I installed the exp in a different folder, and everything seemed to be fine until I finished the installation. When it said 'Run the game', I unticked the box, then I could not find the game icon. So I went to the installed folder and found that it was empty.

Then I noticed there was another installer icon on my taskbar, it said cannot find the core game. (, 01:50 PM)Timo Wrote: This is weird, the installer should automatically install in the proper folder (the one where your original game was installed). Besides, there's no need to patch your original game prior to the expansion installation.
Reign of Augusts already includes all updates and will automatically patch your game to the most recent version. Well, it didnt find the original folder. And because the folder it prompted was some temp folder, I thought it could not overwrite the original folder. So I choosed a parallel folder to the original with Reign of Augustus as extension word, and it did install, but no files. (, 12:28 PM)Timo Wrote: There was probably an error during download.

Just try downloading again and you should be fine. @nosavynada: Where did you download the expansion from?

I downloaded from Gamesplanet So it appears the problem is with Gamesplanet files. Also I should point out that i contacted them and was told that since it installed that it was a kalypso problem and they provided me with a non-existant or old and no longer in DNS support address for the uk division. If it helps I used the seperate file links to download - as pointed out by Superlydia - it was a small exe setup file and a 1GB bin file. Will try download again using their installer to see if any differance. Nope no differance - still having the Core Game issue at install attempt (without uninstalling Grand Ages Rome overwritten with previous Reign of Augustus install. Also if it helps - it is not an entire folder downloaded it is links to 2 seperate files as mentioned above. James bond 007 youtube. The confusion on the folder is the fact that the install process installs to another folder entirely sometimes.
In my case it was to Program Files (x86) Paradox Europa Universalis Rome I had to uninstall that program (europa universalis) and delete its folder to get it to install to the Kalyso one. Also I too had to patch to latest patch before it would install. I am not sure it made a differance but I had Grand Ages Rome running at the time I started the expansion setup and it was then that it first refused to install until i patched and then installed - where I then closed the Grand Ages Rome program when prompted about a file open or in use.
OK I finally have it running (at least for this time) I again deleted the kalypso Grand Ages Rome folder after uninstall. I re-installed Grand Ages Rome Let it update completely to 1.11 version Then ran the Augustus setup file (2nd one I downloaded) It installed to the Kalypso Grand Ages Rome folder And I am guessing this time it correctly unpacked all the hpk files etc. I then ran the game (still had the Core Games must be installed message) Let the game run and it prompted me for the license key and is running. I only have Win7 x64, but if x64 win7 can install, I think all the other systems should do. Clean install of the original game.
Install 1.11 update 3. Install the ROA (which is a small exe file and a big bin file in my case) - if the default ROA installing folder is not in c:temp, then I think u mass up in the first step - ignore the 'core game' issue - the installer will extract the file from the bin file to the ROA installing folder, and then launch the true installer, which is made from nullsoft (should the nullsoft label) - if a 'run' tick appears, u have installed it successfully - the ROA is the same exe as the original game hope u find my description useful. The game has minor bug that although it allow u to create a 25 level character and give u 10000 money, if u accidentally bought a bonus(Like I did), the reset button will zero ur money. Superlydia, I did as you wrote here but it seems the corruption is in the download from the site. The icon isn't even recognized.
